Alyssa Byron is an Environmental Field Technician for SESCO Group. She started her career at SESCO in September of 2017 and has focused on field-based duties such as soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling. Her unique combination of field and laboratory experience has prepared her for her new endeavors here at SESCO, where she has also assisted with business development, researched municipal storm water requirements, completed annual hazardous waste manifest reports, and annual air emission inventories for client companies located in various states. Alyssa is always learning as much as she can about different environmental sub-disciplines and about the environmental consulting industry in general. As she continues to advance, Alyssa will be overseeing UST closures and extending her repertoire in investigation and remediation activities. Alyssa is most excited about the difference in fate and transport for chlorinated solvents and petroleum-based hydrocarbons, as well as the mechanics of bio-remediation. Alyssa’s passion for earth sciences started in college at IU Bloomington where she completed her B.A. in Geology. When Alyssa is not working in the field, she is looking for volunteer opportunities in community workshops and increasing the civic engagement of marginalized communities, and enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors.
